1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By accessing or using CASEFILES ("the Service"), operated at casefiles.space, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. Material changes will be communicated via the Service or email to registered users.

2. USER ACCOUNTS

To access certain features, you must register for an account. You agree to:

Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information
Maintain the security of your password and account
Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account. Accounts are for individual use only and may not be shared.

3. USER-GENERATED CONTENT

Users may submit comments, sighting reports, and other content ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you:

Grant CASEFILES a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content in connection with the Service
Represent that you own or have the right to submit the content
Agree that your content does not violate any applicable law or these Terms

We reserve the right to moderate, edit, or remove any User Content at our sole discretion without notice.

4. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The Service, including its design, code, AI-generated analyses, and original content, is owned by CASEFILES and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not:

Copy, modify, or distribute the Service's proprietary content
Reverse-engineer any part of the Service
Use automated means to scrape or extract data beyond normal browsing
Use the CASEFILES name, logo, or branding without written permission

5. DATA SOURCES DISCLAIMER

CASEFILES aggregates publicly available data from government and civilian sources including NUFORC, MUFON, CIA FOIA Reading Room, Project Blue Book archives, GEIPAN, FBI Vault, AARO, and NARA records. Case dossiers are generated using AI analysis and may contain inaccuracies, misinterpretations, or incomplete information.

The Service does not claim to verify the authenticity, accuracy, or completeness of any reported incident. All content is presented for informational and research purposes only. Users should conduct their own verification before relying on any information.

6. PROHIBITED CONDUCT

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate other users
Submit false, misleading, or fabricated sighting reports
Impersonate any person or entity
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
Use the Service to distribute spam, malware, or phishing content
Bypass or circumvent any access restrictions

7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

IN NO EVENT SHALL CASEFILES, ITS OPERATORS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

8. INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CASEFILES, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

9. TERMINATION

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination:

Your right to access the Service ceases immediately
We may delete your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.

10. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the European Union and the applicable laws of Hungary. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hungary.

11. YOUR RIGHTS UNDER GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Right of access -- request a copy of your personal data
Right to rectification -- correct inaccurate data
Right to erasure -- request deletion of your data
Right to restrict processing -- limit how we use your data
Right to data portability -- receive your data in a structured format
Right to object -- object to processing based on legitimate interests
Right to withdraw consent -- withdraw consent at any time

12. CHANGES TO TERMS

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date above. For material changes, we will provide prominent notice through the Service. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
