1. WHAT ARE ACTIVITY POINTS
Activity Points are a measure of your engagement within the CASEFILES platform. Every meaningful contribution you make -- from posting comments and voting to submitting sighting reports and participating in investigations -- earns you points.
Your total is displayed on your profile and determines your access to advanced features across the platform.
2. HOW TO EARN POINTS
Points are awarded automatically when you perform qualifying actions:

Point values are subject to change. Admins may adjust values at any time.
3. WHAT POINTS UNLOCK
Accumulating points grants access to additional platform features:

Additional thresholds and features may be introduced as the platform evolves.
4. INVESTIGATION BONUSES
Weekly investigations are time-limited, collaborative events focused on a specific case. When an investigation closes, participants are ranked by their contribution score (based on comment count and quality).
- All participants receive a base +25 points
- Top 3 contributors receive additional bonuses on top of the base
- Consistent weekly participation builds your investigation streak, visible on your profile
Investigation results and an AI-generated summary report are published when the investigation concludes.
5. IMPORTANT NOTES
- Points cannot be transferred between accounts
- Abuse of the points system (spam, vote manipulation) may result in point deductions or account suspension
- All content is subject to moderation -- flagged content may not award points
- Sighting report points are awarded only after admin approval
- Point values shown above reflect the current defaults and may be adjusted by administrators
